Maverique Pride Flag

Maverique Pride Flag & Maverique Flag Meaning

Maveriques have a gender – and feel they have a gender – but it is completely separate from male or female.

The designer used yellow because it is a primary color. Therefore, it is completely separate from other colors (like pink or blue) just as maverique is separate from male and female identities.

The white stripe represents independence from the gender binary. White is not on the spectrum of colors so is a blank slate on which maveriques put their own identity.

Finally, orange stands for the burning inner conviction that a maverique feels about their gender. It is perceived as an unorthodox color, again reflecting maverique identity.

What Does It Mean to Be Maverique?

Maverique is a non-binary gender identity that is independent from traditional concepts of male, female, or even gender fluidity. A maverique person may experience their gender as entirely unique and separate from any existing gender categories, often describing it as a deep sense of individuality or autonomy in their gender experience. Maveriques may express their identity in ways that are distinct and outside conventional gender norms, emphasizing self-determination and the freedom to define their own gender. This identity is part of the broader spectrum of non-binary and gender-diverse identities.
